Category: Getting to Know You

Post 1 by Meka (carpe Diem!) on Saturday, 15-Jul-2006 18:11:26

Hi there:

Well, this is the time where I put a few words to the name and hope that I won't be laughed at too badly. Hey you, in the back, drop that tomato right now!

I am Meka, 26, and living in Washington state. I am originally from Georgia and moved out here about five and a half years ago to get a much needed change in my life. Boy did I get one! I'd never been in a tornado, but as soon as I moved out here there was an earthquake. Talk about holding your p's and q's and r's and anything else a person could get their hands on!
The move turned out to be a very healing thing for me in more ways than one. I love this place. So many have asked questions like 'are you the same Meka from audiotips', or 'aren't you that Miss Meka person from back in the day?'. Back in the day wasn't all that long ago. If you remember a story about losing a can of pillsbury crescent rolls and then finding them six hours later behind the couch, then baking them and eating every last one out of spite, that was me.

Hobbies and interests? Boy, do I have them! I love to sing. I am a karaoke junkie and love participating in choirs. I have found a new church home where I truly feel like i can be involved and be a viable part of the happenings there. I love to mud and love to roleplay and would love to find others who are interested in the same things. I am an avid reader. I have always enjoyed reading ever since I was a little girl. Bring on the fantasy, bring on the mayhem, bring on the incredible plots that make your heart sink and make you cry. I am always looking for book recommendations. I am rekindling my passion for IRC and trying to learn all things that I probably shouldn't. I have a love for life and a positive attitude. I am the one that calls everyone sweet tarts and apple cakes, and as weird as that might sound, it's just who I am. I am the hugger and the good listener, and the almost eternal optimist. Please don't hurt me! I just love people.
I'm not a drama person and tend to deflect drama bombs quite well.

Oh, how could I have left this out! Shame on me! I have a lovely yellow lab named Lexus who I have had for about four years now. I received him from the GDB Oregon Campus, and he's my sweetie. People often say that I got a dog just like its owner! He's very energetic and quite the handful at times. I plead the fifth.

I look forward to getting to know all of you. Have a fantastic day.

Hugs, yes and that even means for you,
Meka, who bears gifts of cheesecakes, oreos, and vanilla lotions

Hi Meka, and Welcome. I'm another one who delayed putting a post up here. The real question is how do you eat reos? Personally, I unscrew them first and lick the icing. Come to think of it, haven't done that with the double stuffs. Sounds like a project for a snowy winter's night. Why wait that long?

hi meka,
wow, its been a long time since i posted in this forum, mostly just post on th egeeks are us board if i have a question about something, or on the safe haven board. Anyway nice to meet you. I'm 47 years old, totaly blind and have a soft bone disease. I like reading also, mostly suspense thrillers or psychological suspense, like old time radio, mostly mystery, suspense and th esupernatural and horror stuff. I've been around as far as chat is concerned. I've been on audio tips, first as terry 12, but the nit wouldn't recognize me anymore so had to change my nickname to terry c and register again. I've been on for the people, but i dropped that site, the site owner ande i had a serious disagreement, long story. I go on vipconduit, which is fairly new, well not quite its a year old now, and i've been on accessible chat, thats where i first started usingwonderwoman. i have skype and windows messenger, but don't have many contacts on either, i'm on dial up so connecting on skype is a bit iffy. I'm onmirc, but get bored and frustrated when people stop talking suddenly, don't have too many i can talk to on there so taking a break from it for now, but will probably keep it on my computer until its dead completely. anyway thats probably enough from me right now, just thought i'd look around in here since its been a long time since i've posted here. take care and have a very nice evening,
wonderwoman
